Doc's Take

My best hope, given the subtitle, was that this book might be an attempt to plot a "third way", the elusive middle ground between complementarian and egalitarian hermeneutics. However, as I crack the book, that hope seems unlikely. The title, instead, begins to look like an attempt to hijack the word "complementarity" from the complementarian camp, and doing so by radically restricting "complementarity" to physiological and psychological matters while rejecting any organizational, sociological, structural, or otherwise trans-individual meanings.

("Hierarchy" is an incendiary red herring regularly lobbed at complimentarianism in an attempt to accuse it of elevating the ontological value of men above that of women.)
