Church
From Neoredemptive
We are big on church -- what it is, what its purpose is, how it should operate, what it should and shouldn't look like, how it should and shouldn't be run, etc.
The church is the body of Jesus Christ.
The church is the community of Jesus Christ.
The church is the army of Jesus Christ.
The church is the family of Jesus Christ.
The church is a servant like Jesus Christ.
The church is made up of bondservants of Jesus Christ.
The church is the vessel of the Holy Spirit's presence.
(From [1]:) We believe Jesus died not to create a crowd of disconnected individuals (or cliques) for His Name’s sake, but rather to create a people for His Name’s sake. We believe that true, holistic salvation is only found and walked out in the church - God’s ramshackle, ragamuffin, and always deeply loved gathering of devoted followers. We love each other, give to each other, teach each other, discipline each other; we read the Bible together, sing together, pray together, fast together, and together steer clear of any programs, ideas, practices or disciplines that treat our faith like a “me and God thing” to the exclusion of it also being an “us and God thing”.
