A movement of thar supports the creation of governments based upon stringent interpretations of Islamic (Sharia) law which are functionally fascist. These movements encourage jihad in the form of asymmetric warfare (terrorism) to advance that end.

Contrary to popular belief, the term was not coined by George W. Bush in a fit of islamophobic ignorance; It was coined by Algerian dissident Muslims struggling to throw off the rule of radical hard-liners.
