Limp-wristed
From Neoredemptive
The church in our day is full of limp-writsted leaders professing limp-wristed doctrines as they shape limp-wristed ministries.
We don't like strong, confident, confrontational men in positions of authority, so we depose Paul the apostle and replace him with a nurturing disciple of Freud. We don't like to hear about God's holiness, justice and wrath, so we obsess on a few verses in 1 John and try to ignore the entire Old Testament. We lack the stones to engage in the hard questions of culture, politics and social justice, so we instead turn inward to silo and nurture the faithful. It's deeply troubling and thoroughly pathetic.
