Synopsis
Addresses arguments made by Stanley Grenz in Renewing the Center and, more broadly, by thinkers in the postmodern and emergent traditions.
Adam's Take
A collection of essays, some better than others. Very academic in tone, not accessible to the average reader; this dry tone betrays the importance of the issues raised.
Much of the book interacts with the debate about foundationalism. While I think such debates are of questionable value within the church because they almost universally devolve into humanism and anthropocentrism, there is value in (1) being aware of them and (2) being aware of the internal inconsistencies of all such anthropocentric views of knowledge.
