Science
From Neoredemptive
Science is the intellectual discipline of postulating, vetting, refining, and falsifying descriptive models for how the physical universe behaves.
Scientific practitioners are called "scientists". These are not to be mistaken for "scienceists", adherents to Scientism, a worldview asserting that science is the only valid methodology for acquiring objective knowledge.
Kuhn's The Structure of Scientific Revolutions offers useful insights into just how much subjectivity is present in everyday scientific practice.
It is popular to think that "science" and "faith" are at odds; this is false insofar as science is a methodology and not a truth claim. The conflict they are actually referring to is between naturalism and supernaturalism, where each of these is a "paradigm" that is not properly falsifiable and therefore not itself given to scientific investigation.
