Theocentrism

From Neoredemptive

Jump to: navigation, search

Regarding God as the ultimate reference point for all thought, reason, logic, morals, and perceptions. In a theocentric worldview, God is allowed to name Himself, the universe, and us; this requires of us a true humility before our Creator, and has been a relatively rare phenomenon since Genesis 3. The intellectual discipline of Christian theology is largely one of constant, conscientious self-correction to consider God as more fundamental than culture, community, the self, the sciences, theology itself, and everything else.

Contrast with anthropocentrism.
